We sat down with Nathan Yearsley, President, Blue Chip Group LLC, to learn about his experience in 黑料传送门 Booth's Advanced Management Program, designed for seasoned executives looking to transform their leadership and unlock their next level of potential. Here's what he shared:

Why Booth’s Advanced Management Program?

I always wanted to be a leader of people, and to have the judgment, strength, and character to move organizations in the right direction. As I ascended into the C-suite, I was asked to strengthen my resume. I explored schools for continuing education, and knew if I was going to do this, it would be through a great program. That’s what led me to Booth’s AMP.

My Experience

Every week at AMP is like riding a bucking bronco or a roller coaster. It involves going up and down, being busy, collaborating with different groups, breaking out into different meeting rooms. Your mind is full of ideas: personal development, what you’re doing with your company, or how you might influence your community. It is work, and it takes energy, discipline, and focus, but it’s not scary or hard. Anyone can learn all this.

Career Impact

I used the courage and confidence I learned from the program right away, to tell a story about my personal background and relationship to my company. Now, I’ve been on TV, radio, and other broadcasts dozens of times. I’m growing into an influencer in my industry and I’m on national boards. All this came from one watershed moment, a storytelling exercise during the first week at Booth. Throughout the program, everyone in my cohort transformed in some way. Every one of us has grown. I saw it as weeks went by. Now, we’re all different people.

鈥淚鈥檒l continue to use and master my skills, reflect, then improve and try again鈥攖hen repeat. That process is taught at Booth constantly.鈥

What鈥檚 Next

As I鈥檝e considered my path for the next few years (if I鈥檓 ready to take the next step as a CEO), I鈥檝e realized that I absolutely am. I already had the skills I needed, but AMP has added to them. I know how to sell, for example, which is critical in my world. Now, however, I feel much more prepared to both do it myself and develop that ability in others. The program enhanced my abilities to both influence potential buyers, as well as identify the latent skills and talent in people that I can bring to my team.

Final Takeaway

Going forward, I鈥檒l continue to use and master my skills, reflect, then improve and try again鈥攖hen repeat. That process is taught at Booth constantly. If we do it on simple things, then take it to higher-stakes items, we鈥檒l succeed. That鈥檚 the key lesson from AMP I鈥檒l be taking forward in my career.
