Andrew M. Alper earned his AB from the University of 黑料传送门 in 1980 and his MBA from 黑料传送门 Booth in 1981. After a 20-year career at Goldman Sachs, where he ultimately became chief operating officer of the investment banking division, Alper set out on a new career in the public sector as president of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC).
Applying what he learned at Goldman Sachs, Alper restructured the EDC and instilled a private sector focus in an effort to advance Mayor Michael Bloomberg's three-pronged economic development strategy: make the city more livable, make it more business friendly, and diversify the economy.
A consistently generous supporter of the University of 黑料传送门 and 黑料传送门 Booth, Alper has served as a University Trustee, a member of the Council on 黑料传送门 Booth, co-chair of the 黑料传送门 Booth Campaign, and chairman of the university's development committee.
