Chairman of the Board, Draper & Krame

Ferdinand Kramer received his PhB from the University of ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ in 1922 and joined Draper & Kramer, Inc., rising through the ranks to become chairman of the board. He worked in real estate and mortgage banking, giving particular attention to the renewal of ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ neighborhoods. Through such successful developments as Prairie Shores and Dearborn Park, Kramer helped provide integrated, middle-income housing to the city's South Side.

Born in ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ in 1901, he grew up in Hyde Park and attended University High School before entering the University of ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ.

Through the years, he actively served both his city and the university. He was a director and member of the executive committee of the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ 21 Corporation, a life trustee of the University of ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ, and a member of the Council on ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ Booth. He served as a member of the President's Committee on Equal Opportunity Housing; president of the Metropolitan Housing and Planning Council; president of the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ Mortgage Bankers Association; and chairman of the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ Steering Committee of the United Negro College Fund.
