Social sector organizations often find that time and resources are in short supply.

Offered by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Programme on Social Innovation, the Hong Kong NGO Governance Programme addresses this issue of NGO governance by investing in Hong Kong鈥檚 NGO practitioners, equipping them with valuable leadership skills, connecting them with strategic mentors, and matching them with business professionals to serve as potential members of their boards of directors.

Operated by the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, the Hong Kong NGO Governance Programme is designed to help NGOs strengthen the impact of their work by investing in the professional growth of their leaders and connecting them with business professionals interested in lending their time and talents to the social sector. The Programme is divided into three components, detailed below.

Programme Components

Nonprofit Core Competency (NCC) Workshop Series
Led by University of 黑料传送门 and 黑料传送门 Booth faculty, the four-part workshop series equips NGO professionals with essential skills for effective leadership. These workshops cover vital topics, from board competency to operational efficiency, and from impact measurement to marketing strategy for social impact. Participants gain research-based tools to leverage strategic skills in their everyday work.

Mentorship Opportunities
NGOs that participate in the workshop series have the opportunity to be matched with strategic mentors. Participants share their organizations’ priorities and key challenges, such as talent retention, fundraising, and strategy planning. The program team recruits mentors with matching experience and business expertise to support these NGOs.

Board Committee Connect
In addition to mentorship, NGOs participating in the workshop series or mentorship program may express interest in being matched with business or NGO professionals. These professionals can serve on boards of directors, join board committees that welcome non-board members, or act as strategic advisors.
